Dream Girls

2018-2020

In some ways a prequel to the Summertime Diary series, these tiny paintings along with a few other works got nicknamed the “dream girls”. They started as studies into the overlapping aesthetics of the imagery posted on social media by both individuals advertising their lives, and companies masking as individuals with a lifestyle to sell. At what point has our personal lives become a performance? At what point have advertisements become snapshots of us?
